Reviews

“This [recital disc] is a truly glorious gift. When artists have such obvious rapport and aligned vision, an extraordinarily meaningful musical statement is the result. Throughout the recital, Bayrakdarian gets the Latin American sound, in all its elegance and nuance, just right.”
Opera News

“[Bayrakdarian] is a world-class singer, a performer with prodigious communicative instincts and superlative technical ability. In these wonderfully colorful and evocative songs, many of which are rarely heard on concert stages or on recordings, she displays a commanding presence, using her considerable dramatic skills to enliven each song with appropriately varied personalities and moods, from playful to passionate to wistful to sultry to melancholy – whatever is required to convey sense and spirit of music and text. Bayrakdarian’s vocalism is undeniably compelling”
ClassicsToday

“Canadian soprano Isabel Bayrakdarian strives for perfection in everything she takes on, and this new portrait is no exception. In this program of Spanish and South American music, she shows off her pure-as-spring-air voice, a sparkling delivery and an impeccable flair for languages. “Bluebird” brings a soft and gentle close to this delectable disc.”
